User Experience – Heuristic & Competitive Analysis
Heuristic Analysis
When considering a Web site redesign, it’s critical to understand how your site is successfully serving your users and where it is failing. A heuristic review typically involves two or three human factors and user interface experts reviewing a Web site and evaluating it against a number of recognized usability benchmarks (or heuristics). Roundarch has developed a proprietary Web Scorecard of 280 such heuristics against which to evaluate a Web site’s user experience. Roundarch then uses this information to prioritize user research efforts, in order to maximize the return on your research investment.
Competitive Research
Understanding what the competition is offering is key to developing a successful user experience. Competitors often have developed proven features and functions that can be leveraged when planning your site design. At the same time, such research can also uncover design flaws in the features and functionality. Competitor reviews greatly accelerate the design process, leveraging the work already done by competitors and enabling the design team to create the best user experience possible.
